I said YES to ..... A 3am wake-up to see the milky way. A polar dip in a lake surrounded by snow. Pushing myself physically like I've never done. Spending 4 days with 11 other kicka$$ entrepreneurs. I didn't run 40 miles in 48 hours as planned. I covered the 40 miles in 34 hours. And ended with 48 miles in 48 hours. (For my Canadian friends, that's 77 KMs) The truth? I walked more of those miles than I would've liked. It was the only option once my knees started to hurt and my calves started seizing up. But dropping the self-judgement around more walking allowed me stay on the field and exceed my goal. I pushed much further than I ever believed I could when in pain. And now have new evidence that I am strong + resilient. When's the last time you really pushed your edge?
And I wasn't with just any group of "entrepreneurs" these are 11 dudes dedicated to expanding what's possible for them while intentionally working on being better humans, partners, and parents to those they love the most. 🙏❤️ Tony Albrecht Joshua Aranda Evan Chasteen Mike DiGiovanni Owen McGrann Kyle Watson Pat Veilleux Charley Mann Jean-Michel LeCointre William Leeds Quinn Beasley
Reflecting on this more last night and I'm mega grateful that LinkedIn connected us a couple years ago, Tony. It's incredible how full circle everything has become. 🙏
The las time I really pushed my edge? I ate almost a full Christmas-sized monster Toblerone bar. Don't judge me...
Robb, every day my kids leave for school and still find me here when they return feels like me pushing my resilience to the absolute edge 😅
It was incredible to watch to crush your goal by continuing to keep pushing yourself forward. And it was great to see that with every step you also had a huge smile, great attitude and a big heart. I'm so grateful that I was part of seeing this Robb Gilbear you are inspiring and I'm so happy to call you a friend🤩
What you did after you started hurting said waaaaay more about you than when you were feeling good and running, my man. You kept moving, working through the pain. I'll never forget you hobbling up that steep, curving climb, moving like the Tin Man with a smile on your face. That's how you do, Robb.
We can wake up every day and choose to push ourselves and do something even a little bit scary, Robb Gilbear Sounds like an amazing 4 days.
Best post I have read today! Super cool and congrats
You are indeed as strong and resilient as they come, Robb. You pushed. You inspired. You grew. Beautifully.
