Imagine you're a coach. But you're overwhelmed. You do this work because you want to help others. And you're damn good at what you do. Because you've lived through tough periods + are using what you've learned on your journey to help others suffer less, feel more joy, and enjoy this wild ride a bit more. There's meaning to what you do. But to get to help more people and NOT have to worry about going back to a day job, you've also got to run a business. On any given day you're thinking.... I need to post something. I should schedule more calls. Maybe my messaging isn't clear? When am I going to get to my website? I should really follow up with that person. Maybe I should put together that new program? I need a newsletter, podcast, book, or YouTube channel. That person I'm comparing myself to seems to have it all figured out. It's a lot. What if you knew exactly what to focus on to grow your business with clients you love to serve? And had the tools, support, + community you needed to make it happen? I don't care if you work on Sundays. Plug back in evenings. Or get up at 4am. It really doesn't matter to me. But I sure hope that your calendar + your actions match what you SAY is important to you in this life.

She got 3 inbound inquiries from a post. (and that's not the best part). It had a crappy headline. Only had 300 views after 8 hours. And two of those inquiries turned into clients. More likes + more views is NOT what you actually want. What you're after is getting your message in front of the RIGHT people + having it deeply connect with those folks. Because that's when... → You'll start getting inbound messages. → Won't need to "hard sell" people. → And everything gets easier. That's the power of dialling in your message.

Are you wasting your time (and money?) → My logo was done for $40 by someone on Fiverr. → My first course was made up of PDFs shared in Google drive. → I did tens of thousands of dollars worth of business before I had a website. Your to-do list is long + your days are full... But are you doing things that will lead to you signing new clients, or are you keeping busy "playing business"? WHAT LEADS TO GETTING NEW CLIENTS? (and this is assuming you're actually good at what you do) ❇️ Getting your message in front of more of the right people. ❇️ Starting conversations with people who show interest. ❇️ Making offers when the timing is right. ❇️ Increasing your skills by DOING. If you're insanely self-aware + take A LOT of action without accountability you can learn loads from books, YouTube, and free resources. And if you want to get there faster... With less face plants, the best thing you can do is learn from others who've already done what you want to do.

I'm no longer hiding our daughter's face online. Here's why... I had a proud papa moment on Friday. Our daughter's short film was the feature for the opening night of TIFF's (Toronto International Film Festival) Next Wave Festival. And this is just the beginning for her. She's been creating with video for over a decade. She loves it. And her goal is to make a career in the arts as a filmmaker. I'm obviously biased, but I think she's destined for it. And after chatting with her this weekend about where she wants to take all this, I'm no longer hiding her face + name from my socials. She's an adult now. Carving her own creative path. And she's intentionally seeking to make a name for herself with her art. P.S. Do you hide your children's faces online?

My dad is bald. So were both my grandpas. You could say that my hair destiny was set long before I was born. → My hairline started its backward trajectory in my 20s. → By my mid-30s, I was employing a "comb-forward" approach. It wasn't fooling anyone but me. Once I embraced the truth that the luscious locks of my youth now existed only in pictures, I started shaving it clean. The biggest surprise? How weird it feels to rub your hairless head on a pillow. I realized a couple years ago that the hair on top of my head is no longer thin, it's simply not there. I could be sad that the hair has stopped growing. And take it as a sign of getting old. But I could also be grateful that shaving my head has never been easier. It's a matter of perspective.

Odd advice that helped my clients the most last year. (it's probably not what you think) And this applied whether they were doing $500K/year or still at $5K months....

I barely slept 4 hours. It could be from.... → Booking 15 podcasts appearances in the last week. → Being announced as a judge for a Speaker Slam event. → Watching kickass humans flourish in the Growth Habit crew. → Including Blair Sharp who posted a dope thing about making the leap. → Tony Albrecht sending me a 3rd highly endorsed referral in as many weeks. → Hiring a new community manager who's going to help us make everything more awesome. → Having an offer that's resonating so deeply that total strangers are excitedly applying to work with me within hours of meeting online. → Watching our youngest starting to fully express themselves creatively while our eldest has a film premiering at the opening night of a TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) festival for youth this week. → Seeing my clients sign clients at new prices, getting renewals, launching programs, landing a TEDx, closing big deals, being invited to speak at events, making bold moves, growing their teams, and expressing themselves more openly without caring so much about the judgement of others. It might have also just been the coffee. 😂 I'm so damn grateful. 🙏
