Propolisa substance made by bees, is very immunoprotective and antiviral. You can suck the lozenges during the day or spray the liquid to the back of your throat. Avoid if you have an allergy to honey or bees

Zinc boosts your immune system. Excessive zinc can be toxic, don't overdo it. 

Quercitin seems to reduce inflammation and helps fight infections. Found in garlic and onions as well. 

N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) has shown to reduce inflammation in the lungs, which could reduce the risk of lung damage during viral infections. 

Ganoderma (Reishi) and Coriolus mushrooms are immune modulating. Do not use if you have an active infection. 

Selenium, iodine, CoQ10 and a B-vitamin complex are good for your immune system. 

Turmeric (curcumin) and reservatrol are powerful antioxidants and help to modulate your immune system.

Turmeric, garlic, ginger, oregano and basil have been shown to fight infections and can be added to your cooking. I sip a flask of ginger, garlic, turmeric and black pepper tea during the day. Oregano oil can be harmful if ingested in some cases, so check with your doctor. 

 

HOMEOPATHIC REMEDIES

These are some of the homeopathic remedies doctors are prescribing, based on the unique symptoms of the person. You don't have to have all the symptoms for the remedy to be a good fit. 

Bryonia: Being used as a prophylaxis. Warm all over body, possibly with fever. Desire for cool air and thirst for cold drinks (similar to phosphorus). Dry mouth, nose and throat. Tired,  irritable and don't like to talk or move much.

Sulphur: Feeling of warmth all over body, may have burning sensations, desire for cool air and cold drinks. Later may develop dry cough. Feel tired or sleepy, may be irritable. Tend to talk a lot. 

Phosphorus: Feeling of warmth all over and a desire for cold drinks. May have extreme thirst. Dry mouth, nose and throat. Tired and anxious. Prefers to be around company and close to people. 

Eupatorium: Used as a prophylaxis and also to help treat symptoms related to body aches, fever and weakness with the virus.

Gelsemium helps when there's a lot of weakness or numbness with your fever, but Eupatorium seems to be more successful when there's a lot of body ache.

Arsenicum album has been recommended by the Indian government as an ideal prophylaxis, however, homeopathic doctors are finding the other remedies mentioned here more useful.

Lycopodium: Alternate hot and cold feelings in body, tending towards feeling chilly. Shortness of breath or tightness of chest. Prefer warm drinks. Dry sensation throughout nose, mouth and throat. Tired and prefers not to talk. May be irritable. Often used when there is pneumonia.

Other remedies being used include Influenzinum, Mercurius and Argentum nitricum and Camphora.
